Aachener
Barockorchester

A project orchestra dedicated to historically informed performance practice — carried by music enthusiasts from Aachen's student ensembles.

Music of past
eras, brought to life.

The Aachener Barockorchester (ABO) is a project orchestra founded by the Aachener Trompetenforum. It fosters exchange among musicians from Aachen's student ensembles and contributes to the preservation and cultivation of baroque music.

Alongside baroque repertoire, works from other eras occasionally appear on the program. The Trompetenforum organizes and supports the orchestra's project phases and holds patronage over all of its concert projects.

In two project phases per year, the ensemble prepares ambitious programs — from Bach and Scarlatti to rarely performed works of the era.
